Academic Offer

Undergraduate exchange students

We do not offer any full-time Bachelor’s courses totally in English, but a great number of subjects are offered in English. Please find the list of courses available at our University in English for the exchange students next academic year here.

Full-time master level mobility

We also offer one full English master level program in Landscape Architecture. Please check the admission criteria here.

Doctorate students and Post-Doc

All doctorate students can choose between the following directions of research:

  • Environmental Sciences and Applied Biology
  • Forestry
  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Engineering Sciences
  • Veterinary Medicine and Food Science

Before filling in the application the prospective PhD and post-doc students should contact the coordinator at the host institution ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) and send them a short overview on the subject they are working on and a short outline of the tasks they would like to carry out at the host University. As all exchange PhD and Post-Doc students must work under the supervision of Professors of EMU.

Staff

Additional practical information

The academic year in Eesti Maaülikool, Estonian University of Life Sciences (EMU) consists of two semesters. The autumn semesters begins on the 1st of September. The spring semester normally begins in the last week of January or the beginning of February and finishes in the second week of May, followed by an examination period. For the exact academic year diary please see Academic Calendar.

Official vacation period included in the academic calendar is the Christmas period (starting after the examination session is January). Summer holidays usually start after the Midsummer and last till September 1. Please note that some faculties also have a summer semester, which is meant for taking part in practical training sessions outside the classroom.
